🍂 Mystical Musings from the Mountains

Greetings, Spirit Seekers,

I’m writing to you from my new home in the mountains, where the air is crisp, the leaves are beginning their golden transformation, and the veil of autumn magic opens further with each day.

Moving here has been a dream, but it was not easy. There was a lot to coordinate and many challenges to overcome and so it is all the sweeter that I am now here! Like all good things in life, it takes hard work, lots of effort, and being willing to take a risk and embrace change in order to achieve one's goals. In the future, I  may write about all the challenges I faced when moving here, as there were many. I may share, not in order to complain, but rather to help inspire and show that everything can be figured out and that all things are possible. I'd also like to write about the animals here who are making themselves known to me, including my very protective bears.

And I would love to share the stories of all of the beautiful people who stepped up to help me on this journey and filled each step with love and authentic support. Even in the toughest of times, there is always so much good happening! We have only to open our eyes to truly see and appreciate and be grateful!

And now as I settle in, I’m filling every corner of my new home and my land with intention, beauty, and enchantment.

This season is one of my favorites—Fall and Halloween carry their own frequency of mystery, delight, and deep connection with the unseen.

I’ve been having so much fun decorating and thought I’d share a peek into my home’s autumnal magic. If you're a regular here, you know I love to show holiday decor and what I'm doing for each season. This year I'm in a new home and have moved from the ocean to the mountains so I'm switching things up quite a bit decor wise. I've just barely unpacked in this new home, so give me some grace here as things are not exactly as I plan to have them in the future.

OK, here we go with Halloween 2025...

✨ On the front porch, my Blues Brothers skeleton playing harmonica (Grandin Road) lounges in the rocking chairs, propped up with these adorable Astrology pillows (At Home) for cosmic enlightenment. Pumpkin with gold stem can be found at Home Goods.  He's ready to give out candy and entertain this Halloween.

You may know that I name each home that I live in and always hang a sign with the home's name on the front door. I advise all of my clients who consult with me for Intuitive Interior Decor to do the same. Naming your home connects you energetically to your home and is the beginning of co-creating with decorating your home. I can help you name your new home energetically and show you how to decorate your home to enhance the energy and flow in your home.

My new home is named Stone Veil Cottage and here's her new sign:

Inside, the journey begins in the living room, as I layered the Coffee Table (Hooker/Castella) with pumpkins, blending harvest warmth with mystical touches next to the fire place. This area creates autumnal energetic space, inviting contemplation and cozy conversations.  My array of pumpkins have been collected over the years and the collections evolve each year. Part of the fun of decorating for the holidays, I believe, is adding a new wonderful piece each year. I love the engraving on the grey pumpkin and the very touchable velvet on the green one with gold stem.

Next up, was the fireplace mantel and my intention was that it would glow with the colors of Fall while having hints of witchy charm, and so I included the surprising addition this year of a Medusa bust.

It was so interesting when I discovered her at Home Goods. I decided that she needed to come home with me and be a part of the wisdom in this season of introspection. I had set her down on my kitchen island wondering where to place her in the home and as I looked up, a stream of sunlight had come through the window and was shining on her head, causing this blue glow.

This bust is just colored a simple gray, but the sunlight that fell on her turned the snakes blue! It felt powerful and was even brighter than what I captured in the photo here. Medusa represents divine feminine wisdom and so I placed her on the fireplace mantel to share the light of her wisdom with all who enter.

You can see my priorities here in my new home. I have Halloween and Fall decor up and ready to go, but still haven't put a TV in my home, lol. The previous owners left the TV mount there drilled into the stone over the fireplace.

I love to mix all kinds of interesting objects into my displays. If you look closely, you'll see two chess pieces in black (Home Goods) mixed in on the mantle, along with a gorgeous Moss Agate crystal form of a woman, that was hand carved. If you're looking for unique one of kind crystal pieces like this one, check out my dear friend and crystal supplier, Londa on her Thursday night lives on Facebook. You can find her by searching for Sacred Stones N Oddities on FB.

My florals and leaves on the mantel are a mix I hand picked from Michaels and At Home and placed around as I desired. The vase holding peacock feathers is by Mackenzie Childs.

Every area offers something to delight the six senses, these jack-o-lantern pumpkins on stands (Cracker Barrel) flank each side of the fireplace.  The witch pillow is one of my favorites in the chair, from Home Goods and the pillow and throw behind her are Mackenzie Childs. The marble lights with green lampshades in the back are from Ballard Design, as is the white console.

And my favorite  Witch Tree —stands tall, adorned in all her mysterious glory, with her hat flying magically above her.

It's hard to capture her true essence here in the daylight in one photo, so I'll zoom in so you can see her details.

Her base is a black tree with a mannequin form for the upper body. Down at her feet, I have a layer of fall garland around her travel trunk. On the trunk are her shoes and her familiar, a crow who has his prized crystal druzy star with him.

Her body is full of adornments, gold, black and brown branches (Amazon) pumpkin garland, owl and orange beads (Michaels), peacock feathers, gold snakes, feathers and even a magic wand, a black rose, a butterfly and a crow are tucked into her branches.  She is lush with life and energy.

Her upper body is adorned in black lace and covered with a velvet cape. Her gold medallion holds a crystal in its center. I custom make these trees for my design clients, if you'd like to discuss having one, just contact me.

I have so many more Fall and Halloween photos to share, but there's more that I want to talk about, so I'll move on for now but watch for another newsletter soon with even more photos!

I’d love to hear what you’re creating in your own homes. Do you celebrate Fall with pumpkins, crystals, ancestral altars, or perhaps a sprinkle of whimsical Halloween mischief?
